Box of old slides | Scanning services for photos, slides, albums worldwide

Photo, Slide, Negative and Album Scanning

Your Family’s History Deserves to Be Seen, Not Just Stored.

From dusty boxes in the attic to a vibrant digital legacy.

You know they’re there. The boxes of slides from your childhood vacations. The thick magnetic albums starting to yellow. The envelopes of negatives you aren’t even sure how to view.

Those photos are your family’s most valuable treasure — but right now, they’re trapped. They are vulnerable to heat, humidity, and the passage of time. And they’re nearly impossible to share with the people you love.

What if you could carry your entire family history in your pocket?

At Good Life Photo Solutions, we specialize in high-quality, archival-grade scanning that brings your vintage memories into the modern age. We don’t just “digitize” files; we rescue stories. And unlike mail-in services, your photos never leave our hands.

Let's Rescue Your Photos!

We Handle the Delicate Work — You Enjoy the Results.

Scanning thousands of items is a daunting task. Doing it right — with the correct resolution, cropping, and color correction — takes specialized equipment and a lot of time.

We take the weight off your shoulders. Whether you have a single heirloom album or a mountain of slides, we handle every piece of your history with the same care we’d give our own family photos.

What We Can Preserve For You

We scan it all — carefully, individually, and right here in our Smithfield, Virginia office. Your memories never leave our hands and are never sent out to a third party.

  • Printed Photos: From 100-year-old portraits to 90s glossies.
  • Slides & Negatives: 35mm, 110, 126, and more — finally visible without a projector.
  • Albums & Scrapbooks: We can scan the full page to preserve your layouts, or individual photos — your choice.
  • Memorabilia & Documents: Letters, certificates, and even your children’s childhood artwork.

Have something not on this list?

Just ask. We’ve seen a lot in 15 years.

Why Not Just Use a Mail-In Service?

You’ve probably seen the ads. Drop your photos in a box, ship them off, get files back. It sounds easy.

Here’s what those services don’t tell you.

Your photos are processed by the thousands — by strangers, on an assembly line, in a facility you’ll never see. Quality control is limited. If something goes wrong — a slide is damaged, a batch is misfiled, a box goes missing — your only recourse is a customer service line.

At Good Life Photo Solutions, your memories never leave Smithfield, Virginia. Every item is handled by our staff, individually, on professional-grade equipment. We review every scan. We notice when a photo needs extra attention. We treat your grandmother’s slides like they matter — because to us, they do.

That’s not something a factory-priced service can promise you.

Our Scanning Process

White-Glove Digitizing with a Personal Touch

We Scan Your Photos, Slides, and Albums With Care

We’ve made it simple and secure to move from “clutter” to “collection.”

The Discovery Call

We start with a free 15-minute consultation so you can tell us what you have, what matters most, and what you want to do with the finished files. No pressure, no homework. Just a conversation.

The Hand-Off

Local to Southeastern Virginia? We can arrange a pickup or dropoff.

Not local? You can mail your items to us — clients from all over the country and around the world do this regularly. We’ll walk you through exactly how to pack and ship safely.

Once we receive your items, we’ll complete a full inventory and provide you with an estimate based on your items and project scope.

Professional Digitization

Your memories never leave our hands. We scan everything in-house using professional-grade equipment. We don’t just hit “go” — we individually rotate, crop, and provide basic color correction to ensure your photos look their best. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is handled carelessly.

We treat your images like they are our own.

Secure Delivery

Your new digital archive is delivered via a secure download link or a custom USB drive. Finally, your original physical items are safely returned to you in safe archival storage if desired.

Why Our Clients Trust Us

  • Personal Attention, Not Assembly-Line Processing: Unlike mail-in services that process thousands of orders simultaneously, every item we scan is handled by our staff — individually, carefully, and never outsourced. We know your name, not just your order number.
  • Archival Quality: We scan at high resolutions (600 PPI for prints, 3,000 PPI for slides and negatives) so you can print large copies or create beautiful photo books later.
  • The Legacy Connection: Most of our scanning clients choose to fold their new digital files into our Digital Photo Organizing service, creating one unified, searchable Legacy Collection of their entire life.
